It’s only been 2 months and we already can’t remember life before you. You bring so much love and joy into our lives and we love you like crazy, little one. In the past few weeks we have seen some really dramatic changes in you! Your face is filling out so it doesn’t look as puffy (please don’t lose those squishy cheeks though!) and you’ve grown almost an inch from last month. And that personality is really starting to shine through! You give so many smiles (Daddy got the first one and continues to still get the best ones) and are much more alert when you’re awake.
Well, sweet little Penelope, words can not even describe how amazingly wonderful and exciting life has been with you here! You sure have kept us on our toes and it has been the most beautiful adventure with you.
The evening of January 9th, the day before your due date, started off as being nothing short of ordinary. It was a Saturday night @ around 7:30pm and I had a big pot of minestrone soup on the stove. My crazy over-planning self had been making super-sized versions of all our meals, whenever possible, to freeze for easy dinners after your arrival. Anth had been out walking the dog and the soup had just finished so I continued working on your baby quilt (almost done!).
First trimester is officially over! Baby is perfectly healthy so I could not be any happier!! Getting through the first trimester has been bittersweet for me. I’m so glad that the sweet little babe is happy and healthy, but these few months have gone by so fast. As eager as I am to meet this little nugget, I don’t want to rush the last few months that Anth and I have alone together. I’m trying to soak in all the time I can with my favorite guy.
Without further ado, here he/she is at 11 weeks!
I’m not even sure where to start with this besides WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!! Holy moly I could not be more excited. You think about what it will be like when you find out and just how exciting it will be but it’s oh so much more than that. I’m literally bursting with joy!
